On your Retirement

Good evening to all my friends and  followers after a busy week I've finally made sometime to put a post on my blog. We had a good week in the Peak District although the weather wasn't good we did a lot of nice shopping at Chatsworth Christmas Markets and a lot of relaxing but not so much walking as it was very wet in the middle of the week. I'm now back to normality and  I 've been Christmas shopping today I was surprised how busy the shops were but I got some things but will need another one or two trips to finish all the present buying.
Now onto my card its a Retirement card commission I did for a friend just before my holiday she asked for flowers so I used the very pretty LOTV Lilacs stamp. I did make a matching box but silly me forgot to photograph it!!

I thought I'd finish my post with a lovely photo I took of Lathkill Dale it was one of the dryer days and I took it just before the sunset. It is a really beautiful dale.

I hope that you all have a great weekend what ever you all have planned. I hope to do some more shopping tomorrow I'm determined not to be last minute shopping this year as we are going to the Wedding on the 22nd December that I have been making the stationery for so that will take out a couple of days leading up to Christmas Eve. Thank you all for the great comments on my recent posts they are all so lovely hugs Carole x

New Baby Girl

Good morning to all my lovely friends and  followers and a special welcome this sunny morning to my latest follower Karrie welcome to my Blog I hope that you enjoy my posts and  continue to visit my Blog.
My card today is a New Baby Girl card I made for my friend Margaret she had a new Grandchild while I was away on holiday. Her name is Fearne. The stamp I've used is LOTV Cosy Pram I bought this ages ago when it was released and have never had the opportunity to use it so I knew straight away what baby stamp I was going to make the card with. I've also another first on the card while I was in Florida I bought this Tim Holtz bracket die something I've been after for ages so its had its first outing on this card. The Tim Holtz dies are so much cheaper than in England especially if you have a 40% off coupon !!

Card Recipe

6x6 blank card Craftwork Cards
Edge cut with Tim Holtz Bracket die
Stamp LOTV Cosy Pram painted with Derwent Inktense Pencils
Papers Pion Studio of Memories Rose and Ocean Roses PD1904 from Live and  Love Crafts
Die Marianne Circle, leaf , and flower
Sentiments LOTV for you circular sentiments and sentiment tags.
Lace and ribbon from my stash.
Pearl trim from a haberdashery shop in Durham market ages ago.
Wood teddy button from Whitby Crafts
Flowers Wild orchid Craft and Boyes Stores
Letters from a Pion cut out sheet Live and Love Crafts
Card edges inked with Tattered Rose Distress Ink

I decorated the inside of the card with the same papers and  put the verse onto a  die cut to match the outside. I don't often do this as I usually add an insert of either linen or hammered paper but I did like the results of this technique.

Well got nothing planned especially for the weekend but I do have some jobs in the house and garden to keep me busy. My son also sent me a parcel yesterday it contained the Roman Blind I made  a few years ago for their kitchen and They had already sent some new fabric. So can I just run them a new one up !! I'll need to put a couple of days aside and get my big sewing machine out. The one I use for my cards is a very small one I bought cheaply at John Lewis and it sits under the desk but I'll need my trusted Bernina machine for this project.

I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy some time to relax.  Hugs Carole x

Have a Happy Retirement Phil

Good morning to all my lovely friends and  followers I hope you are enjoying the weekend its been quite sunny here but lots of rain overnight My post today is a male retirement card I made just before my holidays. Its for a great guy Phil an ex colleague of my husbands who retired at the end of September. They worked together as Forensic Trainers and I spent a great two week holiday with his lovely wife Lesley in Singapore when my husband and Phil were working out there. We all had such a great time. He also loves caravanning and has a static van in Northumberland. So I decided to find an image to reflect that. I found this on Pinterest not my usual style image but I thought it was just right for him.

Card Recipe

6x6 card Craftwork cards
Kraft card Crafters Companion
Papers LOTV Enchantment ( I won them in one of the daily candy draws )
Image from Pinterest painted with Promarker and Copic pens
Spellbinder scalloped circles and circle dies

Hessian ribbon from Hobby Lobby Florida
Twine and clock charm from my stash

My husband was out for lunch with Phil and his New Tricks group (all retired colleagues) last week and I know Phil loved his caravan card !!.

Well today I'm again catching up on ironing my washer broke last week and sadly could not be repaired so I had to wait till Friday to get the new on fitted. So did lots of catch up washing yesterday that now needs ironing. This afternoon I'm going to start on my DT projects for November. I cannot believe November is so close, this year seems to have gone by much too quickly. How I ever found time to work full  time I will never know.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend I hope you are doing some nice things today. Love and  Hugs Carole x

Wedding Acceptance

Good morning to all my lovely friends and followers and  a big thank you for you kind comments on my 18th Birthday card. You are all aware I am making wedding stationery and  I received the invite I made for the Wedding on the 22nd December just before my holiday .It was weird receiving my own card.
Today I'm posting the acceptance card I've made to send to Rosie's Mum and Dad. To be honest I think this is the first time I've actually made a Wedding Acceptance card.

Its a long time since I've used a Tilda image but I thought this Wedding Tilda was just right.

Card Recipe

6x6 Blank white card Craftwork Cards
Image Wedding Tilda painted with Copic and  Promarker pens sprinkled with Shabby Pink Frantage from Live and  Love Crafts
Paper is Timeless Victorian from LOTV my favourite I bought another pad at the GNPE
Spellbinder Opulent oval die
Photo stamp LOTV Old Romance Background Bits
Silver sequin ribbon from Whitby Crafts
White rose ribbon from Boyes Stores
Butterflies from a Pion cut out sheet from Live and Love Crafts sprinkled with Shabby Pink Frantage and  edged with white gesso
Silver bead string from my stash
Sentiments computer generated
White card and paper distress tool Tim Holtz

Well I hope you are enjoying the week its been freezing here and I'm really feeling the cold after a month in Florida.

I enjoyed the GNPE on Saturday but a bit disappointed with the number of stalls a lot of my favourite stalls weren't there and LOTV only had a small stall compared to usual they normally had two . The new hall is much smaller so I think this restricts the numbers allowed . I got some of the things I wanted but the die I wanted I've had to order on line as One Upon a Stamp was not there his dies are such a good price. On a positive note I got to meet up with Sue one of my lovely followers it was so nice to see her and chat . I also spoke for a while with Ann from LOTV she's is lovely.

Well I'm off to hospital shortly to see the dietician to see how I'm doing with my GF diet then back to catching up on my crafting and the ironing.  Love the crafting hate ironing.!!

Have a great week Love and Hugs Carole

I'm now home and back to all the catching up. I'm sorry I didn't get any comments done but had to rely on wifi when I could get it so never had chance for any long spells sitting at my iPad. A special thank you to those of you who commented on all my scheduled posts they were lovely and so kind of you all. I must say I have missed my crafting not doing anything was hard but I bought some lovely craft goodies to compensate.
Now a bit about my post today. This is an 18th birthday card and box I made before my holidays for my friend Val to give to her grandson Kieran. The image is a McLaren sports car and the reason for this choice is he's just got an apprenticeship with them and  started this month what an opportunity for him he's a delightful young man.
